Muddy Speaks about Visual Arts with Trefor Prest

Trefor has been making sculpture since 1972. Born in Cardiff, he now lives next to his studio, which he built himself near Castlemaine in Central Victoria. His work has been exhibited all over Australia and overseas. In 2003 he held a solo exhibition in the Bailleau Library, University of Melbourne. Trefor describes his work as a visual artist as “a slow time-consuming process with many twists and turns.”

In conversation with Trefor will be:

  • Maria Swyrdon who has numerically tracked her time at university in All the Grades I Ever Got ;
  • Jess Obersby who lures viewers into giant webs in Spider Spaces ;
  • Gregg Penn who will create a labyrinth in the middle of university grounds with his work Living Space ;
  • and Sun Min Oh who will depict her multiple and overlapping identities as an ‘Australianised Korean’ through various mediums in Iamfinethankyouandyou and Invisible Divider.
